99 Counties is here and we want your support!
We've launched our new website, membership experience and door-to-door delivery service!
I am so proud to share that all our hard work this past year is finally coming to fruition.
Yesterday, we launched our new website, new farm partners, doorstep delivery, and most importantly the 99 Counties Membership.
New website: between April and today we have worked tirelessly to create a seamless ordering experience while highlighting the unique stories of the farms we work with – we are overjoyed to finally share it with the world.
New farm partners: Over the years Nick has built relationships with other family farms in Iowa who share our vision for regenerative agriculture. These are incredible land stewards who needed a partner that would pay them a fair price and handle the complexities of processing, cold-storage, logistics and marketing. We are excited to share the stories of some of those farmers in the coming weeks. Including an incredible farm who we source our turkeys from (you can’t find them on the website just yet, but in just a few weeks you can; don’t get your Thanksgiving turkey anywhere else!)
Doorstep delivery: A 99 Counties van and driver will deliver your order to your doorstep ensuring that you receive the best customer experience possible. Not only does this provide for convenience but it also results in a huge decrease in packaging waste. If you’ve ever ordered food in the mail you’re probably familiar with the incredible amount of cardboard, insulation and plastic it comes with. Door-to-door delivery enables us to eliminate all of that. All of our orders are delivered to your doorstep in reusable canvas bags!
The 99 Counties Membership: With a 99 Counties membership, customers in Chicagoland and Iowa can provide delicious, nutrient-dense meat to their families while supporting regenerative family farms.
What our membership provides:
Free home delivery ($15 savings per order)
10% savings on all products. The average US family spends $8,289 on food per year. If you spend just 1/12th of that ($1,000/year) you will pay back the cost of our membership ($99), start spending more and the savings start rolling in!
Why a membership and not a subscription:
Consumers have subscription fatigue. At this point almost every US consumer has signed up for a membership that they’ve ultimately wanted to cancel because life happens, and you cannot predict when you will need more of a given product.
Order at your convenience: With a 99 Counties Membership our members can receive free delivery on unlimited orders, making our deliveries fit more seamlessly into your life so you don’t have to plan your schedule around when your next delivery is coming.
Simplicity: a $99 membership = free home delivery, 10% off all products and so much more that we will be sharing soon.
Your membership makes it all possible: We have a negative cash flow cycle. Meaning that we pay our suppliers (the farmers and processors) long before we sell the product to our customers. Your upfront membership payment supports our ability to secure a reliable supply of meat for our customers.
How can you help? If we are to realize our goal of transforming US agriculture and restoring small family farms in the Midwest, we must grow. Making our own deliveries only pencils out financially if we can reach at least 2% of households in each neighborhood. Please share our news with your friends and family in the greater Chicago area and in Iowa. We have a freezer filled with fresh delicious beef, pork, chicken and yes we will be providing the most delicious Turkeys for Thanksgiving!
Coming soon! Impact reporting. As many of my longtime readers know, I began this journey almost two years ago in search of a business to build to combat climate change. In March of last year I stumbled upon regenerative agriculture, “you mean to tell me that there are these things called plants that naturally consume carbon and put it in the ground!” We’ve been working hard on this too and are excited to share more in the future. We’ve hired an incredible Head of Supply Chain Operations who starts next month. He has a wealth of experience in regenerative agriculture. We’ve also conducted our first soil carbon samples on one of our farms and will begin gathering water and biodiversity data later this Fall!
