Dear Reader - Thank you for continuing to follow me here at Into The Green. It’s been a harrowing last 4 months for me personally and for our business, yet I am proud to announce that the mission of 99 Counties remains alive and well. As you know. that mission is to restore Iowa to the oak-filled savannah it once was - replete with wild prairie grasses, birds, butterflies, bees and healthy soils. And it’s only possible thanks to the courageous farmers we are lucky enough to partner with her are willing to take risks and do something different.
Today we announced that we will once again be offering Lamb from Jóia Food Farm. Wendy Johnson of Jóia Food Farm is a true unicorn in our space. To grow something other than corn and soy in Iowa and to do it as a woman in a male dominated industry is truly impressive. I find Wendy to be such an inspiration and such a wonderful ambassador for our mission. In fact you’ll be hearing more from Wendy as we are planning to partner with her in the coming months to tell more stories about the many inspiring farmers we work with.
I’d love for you to learn more about our partnership with Wendy via the 99 Counties blog, and perhaps try out some of the delicious Lamb!
Sincerely,
Christian
